We are open every Sunday from 10:00 until 12:30 and in May-June we are open on Friday evenings too.
Benhill-Crescent Horticultural Society is an active not-for-profit society for allotment holders and gardeners, based at the Benhill Allotment site in Benhill Road, Sutton.
With origins going back to 1957, the society currently has approximately 250 members from around the borough and beyond.
Even if you’re not an allotment holder, you can become a member and take advantage of the great prices at the Trading Hut.
You can also be part of the many social events throughout the year, sharing expertise, time and fun with like-minded people. Most events are free and all members are welcome to attend.
Call in to the Trading Hut at Benhill Road on any Sunday morning to join.
An allotment at Benhill
Every year we select a charity to support.
The Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders provides therapeutic riding and carriage driving for children and adults with disabilities.
As part of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), The Diamond Centre exists to provide disabled people with the opportunity to ride, carriage drive or vault at the level of their ability to benefit their health and well being.

The Benhill site is a well established and well managed site which is frequently a winner in the London in Bloom competition.
Members who also have allotment plots at the Benhill site are also able to benefit from the on-site facilities, use the society’s tools and can also take advantage of the Seed Scheme that is organised by the Benhill-Crescent Horticultural Society each August.
The site operates a number of facilities for plot-holders, including:
An effective system of water pipes, tanks and taps on the site, within easy reach of all plots
A range of tools available to borrow. Members are invited to make a
financial contribution towards the fuel and maintenance when
borrowing strimmers and mowers.
A WC on site, available and accessible to all allotment holders
A delivery of Manure for allotment holders to use on their plots
Water butts and compost bins have been provided for plot holders.
Notice Boards to inform members of events and activities in the local area and with affiliated societies.
The management of the site and the grass cutting of pathways is carried out by committee members.
Picnic benches and seats have been provided for members on the allotment site.
‘Blightwatch’ monitoring service, which informs members of any tomato or potato blight on the Benhill site. (Please ask at the Trading hut if you need information.)
